Land
Land is bought, never given. Nobody starts with any, and the money you pay is burned: it leaves the economy for good.
Buying land
- Take a golden shovel in your hand.
- Right-click two opposite corners of the area you want.
- The state names a price in chat, with how many columns you're buying and which biomes they contain.
- Click
[Buy for …], or type/land buy, within one minute. The land is yours.
If someone bought land in the meantime and prices rose, you are never charged more than you were shown: the server gives you a fresh price instead.
What you get
A claim owns its whole column, from bedrock to the sky, caves included. A 16 × 16 claim is 256 columns.
How prices work
- Every column has a price, made from the biomes in it, from the surface down through the caves.
- Rare biomes cost more, common ones less. A biome that covers a quarter of the average share of the world costs about twice as much.
- A biome gets dearer as it fills up. The last free cherry grove will cost a fortune.
- Every chunk sold anywhere raises all prices by about 1 %. Early buyers pay less.
| Command | What it shows |
|---|---|
/land price | What the column you stand on costs, why, and what a 16 × 16 of the same land would cost. |
/land stats | A menu of every biome: how rare it is, how much is owned, what a 16 × 16 of it costs now. |
Growing, shrinking, giving back
- To grow a claim, right-click one of its corners with the golden shovel and click the new corner. You get a price for the extra columns only.
- Shrinking is free, and refunds nothing.
/abandonclaimgives the land back to the commons. Nothing is refunded.- Selling or giving land to another player is not possible yet.
